Empowering Women: Developing Communities

The World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report ranks Kenya 109th out of 156 countries in terms of gender parity. This indicates substantial gaps in economic participation and opportunity for women.

At Wake na Vijana Initiatives (WVI), we are dedicated to advancing gender and social empowerment, striving to create a society where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. Our women empowerment program addresses critical socio-economic issues by equipping women from low income backgrounds and survivors of Gender Based Violence with skills necessary for self-reliance.

Through mentorship, funding opportunities, leadership training, entrepreneurship and capacity building, we strive to break gender barriers and promote Gender Equality by providing women in rural and underserved geographies with equal opportunities for personal growth and economic independence.

By focusing on women empowerment, we align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); 5 (Gender Equality), and 10 (Reduced Inequalities).
